Why Use Organic Pest Control
If you are trying to be “green” to help keep the earth as beautiful and clean as possible for future generations, you are doing a great thing. You may drive only hybrid vehicles, use public transportation, and buy organic foods from the grocery store. However, you may not be doing enough. Did you kill that wasp nest near your house this summer with pest spray from the store? Did you keep your lawn green and weed free with pesticides? If you answered yes to these questions or can think of another situation where you used a chemical pest spray or pesticide, you may want to rethink your decision. Instead of using harsh chemicals, use organic pest control to keep the pesky bugs and weeds at bay.
What’s Wrong With Harsh Chemicals
The exposure from pesticides has been linked to countless health problems and diseases. Infertility, cancer, birth defects, Parkinson’s disease, encephalitis, and lymphoma have been linked to pesticide exposure. The biggest problem is that the government does not have laws and regulations for companies to test these lawn (and often time home garden) pesticides like pesticides for commercially grown food are tested. Even the Center for Disease Control has several documented cases where farm workers have gotten ill after being exposed to certain lawn pesticides. Using these pesticides around your house as pest control is far from organic pest control. Using an organic pest control will not put your family at risk—a harsh chemical pesticide that is not government regulated can harm you or your family.
Not using organic pest control also puts the environment at risk. Organic pest control is less harsh and does not harm the environment. Non organic pest control like pesticides contaminate the plants, soil, air, water, and animals in the area. Lawn chemicals can, and do, seep into the water table and can contaminate your well. Many studies have shown that harsh pesticides can harm honeybees and ladybugs, two insects that are crucial to the insect and plant world. Many rivers have been completely contaminated by nearby farms where the chemicals run off into the water. If the chemicals can harm people, animals, and insects, you have to wonder how the food you eat from your home garden are even safe if you do not use organic pest control.
No matter what you need the organic pest control for, be it mosquito control, termite control, or wasp control, please think of mother earth and chose organic pest control for your lawn and home garden.
