Squirrels in particular can cause extensive damage in the vegetable garden and flowerbeds, because they eat vegetable flower bulbs and freshly planted seeds.

To control animal pests in the garden there are a few things that you can do, but trimming overhanging tree limbs and limbs that are just within jumping distance of your garden will be one great idea because this will prevent squirrels and other animals from being able to so easily make their way into the garden.

You should also cover up chimneys and attic and crawl space vents with mesh screen to prevent animals from getting in.
